"Everything in our life is in the process of constant change, constantly in the process of becoming something else." Unknown
As I get older I am constantly amazed at how much things change, how much I change. Most of the time the transformations are subtle and happen without much thought or input from me. Even though, for the most part, I'm happy with who I am and my circumstances, I realize that within a month or year my reality can and probably will do a 180, maybe for the worse but hopefully for the better.
So many of us fight change because we are creatures of habit, going along just to get along. We let our fear of the unknown rob us of a better future. I've often heard that the world is full of infinite possibilities. So why not let us seize the infinite to transform and mold our existence into something truly bad ass?
Since change is going to happen with or without our blessing, I think it would benefit us to be strategic and initiate change ourselves. I think the best thing to do first is brainstorm and find out where in our lives we are stuck? Where could we make our lives better? What would we need to do to make our next reality a better reality?
Very few people take the time to be strategic about their lives. Most people and I'm guilty of this too a lot of the time, are reactionary. Always going with the flow.
Taking the time to realize and pinpoint present limiting beliefs, gives you the power to change those beliefs. Do you worry too much? Are you judgmental of people who don't look like you or act the way you think they should? Do you have a scarcity mentality involving love or money? Since the first step is admitting you have a problem, make the next step doing something about it.
Another point of emphasis in our strategy to engineer a better life should be quality down time. Don't be so stuck and focused on winning the rat race that you neglect the best things about being alive in the first place. Here we should strive for balance because all work and no play makes Kris go cray cray. :)
Leveraging constant change to build good times into your life in a strategic way allows you to maximize the effort you give when you do work. Don't make the mistake of taking on the role of martyr working 24/7. Even God rested on the 7th day, and if the Big Guy planned for rest I think it probably won't kill you to do the same.
As you embrace your process of becoming someone new have faith that, that person will be successful. Basically, I want us to begin to expect good shit to happen, and on a regular basis too! To me, there is nothing more annoying than someone always in doom and gloom mode, bitching and complaining about all the negative "what ifs" in life. Yes there will be setbacks, failures and heartbreaks but that isn't going to be the general trajectory of your life....probably. Lol
As we begin to engineer our futures into something we can be proud of, a sense of fulfillment will begin to permeate our lives. Even the helplessness of uncertainty will begin to feel like a blessing because, you will see that even a set back is just a set up for something better to enter your life.
But whatever changes do come, I hope that what doesn't change, is you coming here and checking UppwardLife out! You guys are awesome and I just don't see that changing! :)
Best of Life, Kris
